Men’S Fashion News For 2011

If you are a fan of fashion without the fuss then some of the men’s fashion trends for 2011 will be right up your street.
The catwalks of Milan and Paris were awash with simple, sleek designs. Jil Sander, Calvin Klein, Prada and Dior Homme all perfected a pared down look with single breasted coats and straight leg trousers à gogo. Black and white were reoccurring colours and the clothes of tomorrow certainly seem to be inheriting plain and simple qualities.
If you fancy introducing a flash of colour into your wardrobe then look to fashion house Etro for inspiration; their 2011 collection had hints of purple paisley prints in the form of socks and scarves which added a quirky touch to simple, structured outfits.
Graphic-style abstract prints featured in the creations of several designers, including Versace’s futuristic-style collection and the designs of Moschino and Alexander McQueen.
T-shirts are an excellent way to introduce graphic prints into your wardrobe so head to the high street for the best choice in garments that allow you to express yourself in style.
Military trends have made appearances throughout the decades and are still filtering through to the high street. A military style coat or jacket is an easy way to integrate this seemingly endless trend into your wardrobe and will keep you warm and cosy through the changing seasons.
Military colour choices tend to be navy, green, black and grey. Coats can be single or double-breasted and are usually detailed with brass buttons.
When it comes to jeans you are spoilt for choice and the secret to looking your best is dressing to suit your body shape. The classic skinny fit oozes rockstar credibility whereas slimfit offer a more relaxed look. Straight leg jeans are cut straight for a look that suits pretty much everyone.
If you want to look sharp then a sleek suit may be just what your wardrobe needs. Something as classic as a grey three-button suit can make you look understated and stylish at the same time.
Don’t be under the impression that all suits look similar. A jacket can be single- or double-breasted and can have lots or few buttons, as well as different lapels and pockets.

Best and worst style at the NTAs

Best Presenter nominee DAVINA MCCALL tweeted pics of her slinky sea-green Geannine Pollazzon dress and skull detail Alexander McQueen heels direct from her dressing room before the event. We think she should have gone for a bigger size.

Daybreak star CHRISTINE BLEAKLEY turned up the heat in a blue silk Yong dress and arrived with the ultimate accessory – FRANK LAMPARD on her arm.

The Hollyoaks gals glammed up brilliantly for their trip down the M6, wearing some of the planet’s most sought after designers.

JENNIFER METCALFE showed off her Dancing on Ice figure in a clinging white £1270 Herve Leger dress and Louboutin heels.

JORGIE PORTER chose an embellished black Roja dress, RACHEL SHENTON was all grown up in a nude coloured £980 Victoria Beckham crepe dress and matching accessories.

JESSIE WALLACE showed off her fab figure in a space age silver dress featuring a train and embellished bib, but unfortunately the dress wore her.

Not all stars donned designer duds for the 02 event.

Eastenders’ RITA SIMONS chose a simple Ted Backer LBD with statement shoulders …but nodded to Roxy’s brassy character with a pair of red-soled leopard print shoes.

It was a mixed style bag from the Strictly divas though. ALESHA DIXON’S plunging Stephane St Jaymes was more fitting for a night at China White’s than the red carpet.

But TESS DALY looked heavenly in a blush Alberta Feretti one shoulder dress.
